In August 2014 following an unannounced Inspection, Hartley Park was one of the first Nursing Homes to be awarded the Outstanding rating. The inspectors stated:
“People were placed at the heart of the service. The service has clear values that the promoted to staff. Strong emphasis was placed on continuously striving to improve and recognised quality accreditation had been accomplished”
In February 2017 again following an unannounced Inspection, we were again awarded the Outstanding rating. The inspectors stated:
“People, relatives and professional told us all aspects of the service were excellent. Staff all demonstrated compassion and empathy. Peoples care was based upon best practice and constantly reviewed. Care was planned around people and their preferences. People were at the heart of care.”
In 2019 we were again awarded an Outstanding CQC rating.
The full report can be viewed on the Care Quality Commission website cqc.org.uk and is a testament to our continued commitment and drive of the whole team to deliver the service our residents deserve.
Six Step Accreditation
In August 2012, a year after we opened, Hartley Park achieved both the individual and the organisation Six Steps accreditation. To achieve and maintain this end of life standard, organisations and individuals go through rigorous initial assessment process with St Luke’s Hospice and annually thereafter. The six steps accreditation is now a local quality marker recognised by the local authority and those who achieve it are flagged up in Plymouth's online public directory. In 2015 and in 2017 we further funded this training for three more of our nurses to continue the drive for excellence.
Food Hygiene highest standard

The food hygiene rating or inspection result given to a business reflects the standards of food hygiene found on the date of inspection or visit by the local authority. There are 6 different food hygiene ratings (‘0’ up to ‘5’) – the top rating represents a ‘very good’ level of compliance with legal requirements.
In February 2023 we again achieved the top rating of 5. Debbie Dunstan – Kitchen Manager and her team continue to provide the highest standards in quality nutrition and are passionate about the dietary needs of our residents.
